Hypnotherapy for anxiety and panic

Do you suffer from panic attacks or anxiety in certain situations? Are you suffering from stress? My Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Panic programme may well be the answer – a gentle therapy which will change behaviour permanently.

“I wish I’d tried it years ago. My anxiety was more manageable after just one session and after five sessions I had a feeling of personal control and calmness that I’d never experienced before.” Lisa.

In today’s busy world, with so many pressures and distractions, anxiety, stress and worry is very common. In a survey covering Great Britain, 1 in 6 adults had experienced some form of anxiety in the previous week and more than 1 in 10 people are likely to have a ‘disabling anxiety disorder’ at some stage of their life.  Feelings of temporary worry or anxiety is a normal human reaction – but in some cases these reactions start to become out of control and intrusive into daily lives. It becomes a vicious circle – the more it happens, the more the person worries about it happening.

A panic attack is a very frightening experience, with people who suffer from them reporting feeling like they might have a heart attack, their heart racing, sweating and feeling like they want to run. This can be very debilitating and contribute to worsening anxiety as time goes on.

The symptoms of anxiety and panic are different for everyone who suffers but can include:

  • Finding it hard to concentrate
  • Irritability and restlessness
  • Palpitations or a racing heart
  • Dizziness and tingling
  • Tiredness and lack of energy
  • Dry mouth but with thirst
  • Excessive sweating
  • Shortness of breath
  • Stomach ache or headaches
  • Frequent urination
  • Difficulty sleeping

How my Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Panic programme can help

At the initial consultation,  I will assess your anxiety and how best to treat it.  I will create a hypnosis treatment programme designed to help you overcome your specific anxieties. Hypnotherapy for anxiety requires a bespoke programme for each individual –  whether you are suffering from frequent panic attacks or the occasional mild anxiety moment, hypnotherapy can help as it can be easily tailored to the person being treated.

I will help you understand what the ‘fight or flight’ response is and how it is affecting you. Together, we will learn techniques to help you overcome this automatic stress response and I will guide you through sessions of hypnosis that will relax and calm you, whilst re-training negative thoughts into more positive ones. We will work together at a pace that suits you, ensuring that you make progress and achieve the goals that we have set.
